Frequently Asked Questions

We want to prevent mental illness from developing by intervening early.

We are currently offering a parent training program, to prevent severe misbehavior from developing and a teen wellness program, to prevent teen mental illness from developing.

Find out more below by exploring our FAQ.

  • What is MyndHealth? We offer mental wellness sessions for parents who have difficulty managing thier child's behaviors and for teens struggling with strong emotions. We offer live sessions via video conferencing on our platform, wherever you are in the world!

  • What makes MyndHealth different from traditional psychotherapy? Typically, people go to therapy to treat a mental health condition such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder. We provide skill-building sessions for parents of young children and for teens to PREVENT mental illness from developing and save you thousands in future costly therapy sessions.

  • Is MyndHealth right for me? MyndHealth may be right for you if your child is having minor unwanted behaviors (nagging, whining, disobeying) or if your teen is having difficulty managing their emotions around normal life events. However, it may not be the right choice for you if your child is already diagnosed with a mental health condition (e.g., Oppositional Defiant Disorder, anxiety, depression) or if your child is in a crisis situation, need in-person support, or does not have access to reliable internet or an electronic device.

  • Who are your Mental Wellness Specialists? Are they like therapists or life coaches? Our Mental Wellness  Specialists are what makes MyndHealth so unique! Our Specialists come from all walks of life and are as diverse as our clients. They are not therapists nor are they life coaches. They have formal education and/or extensive experience in the field of mental health. In addition, all our Specialists go through a standardized training developed by a licensed clinical psychologist. More importantly, our Specialists have lived experiences. This means that they have gone through or have a loved one that has gone through mental health struggles and can relate to you on a more personal level.

  • How long and how often will I meet with my MyndHealth Specialist? You are in charge! You can meet your Specialist biweekly, weekly, monthly or whatever makes sense to you. The majority of our clients build up coping skills and feel more resilient within 6 sessions. However, you can meet with your Specialist as long as it feels helpful.

  • Do you accept insurance?  Because our services are not clinical in nature (we are in the business of PREVENTING mental illness), they are not reimbursable by insurance. However, our services are affordable and the cost per session is comparable to what you might have to pay in copays and/or deductible with your insurance, maybe even less!

  • Do you accept international clients?  Yes! So long as you speak English and we figure out scheduling due to time difference, we are happy to support your mental health, wherever you are in the world!
